About us
Mill Gate Shopping Centre is much more than 'just a shopping centre'. It is the hub of our local community, where almost a quarter of a million people visit every week - to meet friends and family, to eat and drink, to work, to enjoy their leisure time. There are many reasons why people come to the centre. As a result, there are many facilities that are provided over and above the shops, cafés and restaurants – that are available to our visitors.
Mill Gate Shopping Centre opened in 1992 and comprises over 140 shops and stores. It is close to the Travel Interchange, Metro link station and has easy access by car from the M66.
The centre is anchored by Boots, Bhs and New Look. It has a wealth of independent retailers which distinguishes it from a number of other shopping centres.
Mill Gate has wide conservatory style malls offering a pleasant and safe shopping environment. It has a strong community focus and its free Kiddy Cab hire is a major customer service feature. It is family friendly and its close proximity to Bury Market makes it an ideal day out.

Ladies, we are in luck! Pippa Middleton, arguably Britain’s most eligible woman has given us all some top tips for Valentine’s Day. Pippa edits the Party Times Magazine and the latest edition includes some tips to spice up your Valentine’s Day. So, what’s our favourite famous sister got to say this year? The magazine recommends homemade Valentine’s Cards for loved ones, as well as sweet treats and goodies such as heart-shaped cookies, for the object of your affection. Another suggestion is to throw a Valentine’s-themed party for not just lovers, but friends too, using tea lights, heart-shaped sparkers and pink and red flowers to decorate your humble abode – we absolutely love this idea!
