Mill Gate’s Giving Tree Open for Donations!

Thursday, 8th December 2011

Following an extremely busy Christmas Light Switch On, Mill Gate Shopping Centre in Bury is pleased to celebrate the arrival of the annual Giving Tree. The Giving Tree was set up by the Centre in conjunction with a number of local charities and is now open for donations.

Spokespersons from The Penine Acute Hospitals Charity, Salvation Army and The Prince’s Trust, Fairbridge Programme all attended a photo call at The Centre to promote the Giving Tree. Not in attendance, but also involved in the project are the NSPCC.

To donate a gift to the Giving Tree, shoppers take their donations to the Customer Information Desk in the Mall.

Centre Manager Pete Barber says: “We have an important responsibility to create a strong link between the Centre and the wider Bury community. The Giving Tree is a fantastic way to support local charities, and give them the recognition they deserve.”

Pete continues: “Along with the enjoyment of the sharing the festivities with family, to be able to help those less fortunate than ourselves is paramount. Last year’s Giving Tree was a huge success and we are enjoying an incredibly busy run up to Christmas, so we have no doubt our shoppers will donate generous”
