Mill Gate Launches Consultation On Future Plans
The owners of the Mill Gate shopping centre have commenced consultation on the future of the centre and are inviting all members of the public and key town centre stakeholders to take an active role in this process.
The draft Planning & Design Framework (PDF) is the first step towards identifying a series of guiding principles for future investment in the shopping centre.
Undertaken by Planning & Urban Design Consultants Turley Associates, the PDF seeks to appraise the existing shopping centre in a structured manner including consideration as to how the centre relates to its surroundings and adjoining developments, the quality of the environment, accessibility and movement throughout the centre, all key attributes of an attractive shopping centre.
The document is on consultation for 6 weeks from 29 November and members of the professional team and shopping centre management will be available to discuss its content at an display to take place on 29,30 November, 1st December and 6,7,8 December (12noon-5.30pm, 12 noon-5.30pm, and 10 to 1pm respectively). The display will be available to view at all other times and visiting members are encouraged to provide their feedback to the professional team using the Consultation Feedback Form which accompanies the document. Following the consultation period, all comments will be evaluated and the document amended accordingly, prior to being report back to the Borough Councils Executive Cabinet for endorsement of key principles.
